Artist: The Strokes
Genre: Indie Rock
The Strokes are an American rock band from New York City formed in 1998 who became one of the most influential bands of the 2000s. Their debut album 'Is This It' (2001) helped spark the garage rock revival and influenced countless subsequent bands. Julian Casablancas' vocals and the band's tight, retro-influenced sound created classics like 'Last Nite' and 'Reptilia.' The Strokes' influence on 2000s rock and their role in reviving interest in guitar-based rock was immense. They represented New York rock's most significant 21st-century moment.
