Artist: Television Personalities
Genre: Indie Pop
Television Personalities are a British indie pop band formed in 1977, led by Dan Treacy, who became influential figures in the development of independent music. Their DIY approach and jangly, literate songs influenced countless subsequent indie bands. Albums like 'And Don't the Kids Just Love It' and 'The Painted Word' are considered indie classics. Treacy's troubled personal life affected the band's consistency but not their influence. Television Personalities represented indie pop at its most foundational and authentic.
