Albums including 'Roy Buchanan' and 'Second Album' showcased his remarkable abilities. Though commercial success proved elusive, Buchanan was revered by fellow musicians including Robbie Robertson and Jeff Beck. His tragic death in 1988 ended a career that had demonstrated guitar's most expressive possibilities.
