Roxette were a Swedish pop-rock duo consisting of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle who achieved massive international success from the late 1980s through the 1990s. Hits including 'The Look,' 'Listen to Your Heart,' 'It Must Have Been Love,' and 'Joyride' topped charts worldwide. Their combination of Fredriksson's powerful vocals with Gessle's crafted pop-rock songwriting created an irresistible sound. Roxette sold over 75 million records worldwide. Fredriksson's death in 2019 was mourned internationally. Roxette represented Swedish pop at its most internationally successful.
