Norman Cook is a British DJ, musician, and producer best known as Fatboy Slim, one of the most successful electronic music artists of the 1990s and 2000s. Before Fatboy Slim, Cook was bassist for The Housemartins and created dance music under names including Beats International ('Dub Be Good to Me') and Freak Power. As Fatboy Slim, hits like 'The Rockafeller Skank,' 'Praise You,' and 'Right Here, Right Now' defined the big beat genre. His beach parties in Brighton became legendary. Cook's influence on British dance music and his ability to bring underground sounds to mainstream audiences was substantial.
