Modern Romance were a British new wave band who achieved success in the early 1980s with their blend of Latin rhythms and pop music. Their hits, including 'Everybody Salsa,' 'Ay Ay Ay Ay Moosey,' and 'Best Years of Our Lives,' brought Latin-influenced dance music to UK charts. The band's fusion of salsa with new wave pop anticipated the later Latin pop boom. Their energetic performances and catchy songs made them popular on both radio and television. Though their commercial success was concentrated in the early 1980s, Modern Romance demonstrated British pop's ability to incorporate diverse musical influences. They represented the more playful, danceable side of the new wave era.
