Loverboy is a Canadian rock band from Calgary who became one of the most successful arena rock acts of the early 1980s. Their hits, including 'Working for the Weekend,' 'Turn Me Loose,' 'Hot Girls in Love,' and 'Lovin' Every Minute of It,' defined mainstream rock radio during the era. The band's combination of hard rock power with pop hooks made them MTV and radio favorites. Lead singer Mike Reno's energetic performances and the band's trademark red leather pants created a distinctive visual identity. Loverboy's music soundtracked countless parties and sporting events. Though their commercial peak was concentrated in the early 1980s, 'Working for the Weekend' in particular has achieved enduring cultural ubiquity.
