Artist: I Musici
Genre: Classical
I Musici is an Italian chamber orchestra founded in Rome in 1952 that became one of the world's foremost ensembles for Baroque music performance. The group, consisting of twelve players, specialized in Italian Baroque repertoire, particularly the works of Vivaldi, whose 'Four Seasons' they helped popularize globally through numerous recordings. Their approach combined historical awareness with vibrant, passionate performance that brought new audiences to Baroque music. I Musici's recordings for Philips became standard references for Italian Baroque interpretation. The ensemble's consistent excellence over decades established them as guardians of the Italian musical tradition. Their influence on Baroque performance practice and their role in popularizing Vivaldi worldwide made them one of classical music's most important chamber groups.
