Hurricane Smith was the stage name of British recording engineer and singer Norman Smith, who achieved success as a solo artist in the early 1970s after a distinguished career behind the recording console. As an engineer at EMI's Abbey Road Studios, Smith worked on the Beatles' early albums and later produced Pink Floyd's first several albums. His solo hits 'Don't Let It Die' and 'Oh, Babe, What Would You Say?' showcased his warm vocal style and pop sensibility. 'Oh, Babe, What Would You Say?' reached number three in the United States.
