Artist: Hookworms
Genre: Psychedelic Rock
Hookworms were a British psychedelic rock band from Leeds, active from 2011 to 2018. The band's intense, hypnotic sound combined elements of krautrock, noise rock, and psychedelia into a powerful live experience. Their albums 'Pearl Mystic' and 'The Hum' received critical acclaim for their immersive, dynamic approach. Hookworms were known for using pseudonyms (MJ, JN, etc.) and maintaining a certain mystique around their identities. Their studio in Leeds also served as a recording facility for other bands, contributing to the local music community. Though their career was relatively short, Hookworms were highly influential within the UK underground rock scene and represented the continued vitality of British psychedelic rock in the 2010s.
