Artist: Herbert Von Karajan
Genre: Classical
Herbert von Karajan was an Austrian conductor who became one of the most celebrated and influential conductors of the 20th century. He served as principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic for 35 years (1954-1989), shaping it into one of the world's premier orchestras. Karajan's extensive discography, particularly his multiple recordings of the core symphonic repertoire with Deutsche Grammophon, introduced classical music to millions worldwide. His interpretations were characterized by polished precision, rich sonority, and dramatic intensity. He also conducted the Vienna Philharmonic and founded the Salzburg Easter Festival. Though his authoritarian conducting style and past Nazi Party membership remained controversial, his musical achievements were undeniable. Karajan's legacy includes pioneering work in recording technology and music video, making him classical music's first true media star.
