Artist: Girls Against Boys
Genre: Alternative Rock
Girls Against Boys is an American rock band formed in Washington D.C. in 1989, known for their bass-heavy sound featuring two bass guitarists, distorted vocals, and driving rhythms. Emerging from the post-hardcore scene, they developed a distinctive sound that combined punk energy with groove-oriented rock. Their albums 'Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby' and 'Cruise Yourself' earned critical acclaim for their innovative approach and dark, urban aesthetic. The band signed to a major label for 'Freakonica' but returned to independent labels afterward. Girls Against Boys' influence on noise rock and post-hardcore was significant, with their dual-bass attack inspiring numerous subsequent bands. The band reunited in the 2010s, demonstrating their continued relevance to fans of heavy alternative rock.
