Artist: Gang Green
Genre: Hardcore Punk
Gang Green is an American hardcore punk band formed in Boston in 1980. They were part of the influential Boston hardcore scene that also produced bands like SS Decontrol and Jerry's Kids. Gang Green's sound combined hardcore punk with thrash influences and, unusually for hardcore, a sense of humor evident in songs about beer, partying, and surf culture. Albums like 'Another Wasted Night' showcased their high-energy approach. The band went through numerous lineup changes with vocalist Chris Doherty remaining the constant member. Their fusion of hardcore intensity with a more accessible, sometimes humorous approach distinguished them from more serious contemporaries. Gang Green's influence on skate punk and humorous hardcore is notable, and they continued performing periodically for hardcore enthusiasts.
