King's powerful, aggressive guitar style influenced both blues and rock guitarists. His instrumental hits like 'Hide Away' showcased virtuosic playing. During British blues boom, King became hugely influential on British guitarists like Clapton. King successfully bridged traditional blues and emerging blues-rock. His 1970s albums introduced him to rock audiences. His influence on electric blues guitar is immeasurable. He died in 1976, leaving legacy as one of blues' most important guitarists.
