Artist: Foals
Genre: Alternative Rock
Foals are an English rock band from Oxford formed in 2005, known for their evolution from math rock origins to arena-filling alternative rock. Originally featuring Yannis Philippakis on vocals and guitar, the band's early work combined intricate guitar patterns with dance rhythms. Their 2008 debut 'Antidotes' established them as innovative with tracks like 'Cassius.' Foals progressively expanded their sound with albums like 'Holy Fire' incorporating expansive arrangements while maintaining rhythmic sophistication. By their ambitious 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost,' they had evolved into a powerful, anthemic band. Philippakis's passionate vocals and the band's boundary-pushing have earned critical acclaim including multiple Mercury Prize nominations, making them premier festival headliners.
