Songs like 'Beware of Young Girls' addressed her husband leaving her for Mia Farrow. Previn's theatrical, narrative songwriting influenced later confessional songwriters. Her work was critically acclaimed for its honesty and literary quality. Previn also wrote musicals and returned to film work. She passed away in 2012. Previn represented confessional songwriting before it became common, demonstrating that women could write explicitly about personal pain and mental health in popular music.
