Artist: Big Star
Genre: Power Pop/Rock
Influential American rock band whose commercial failure belied their massive influence. Their jangly guitars and melodic songwriting influenced alternative rock and power pop immensely. Albums like '#1 Record' and 'Radio City' became cult classics, influencing R.E.M., The Replacements, and countless indie bands. Their rediscovery helped establish the power pop genre.
