The group achieved significant success throughout the 1980s with their smooth, sophisticated R&B sound blending funk, soul, and pop. Their biggest hit came in 1987 with 'Always,' a romantic ballad that topped the Billboard Hot 100. Other successful songs included 'Secret Lovers' and 'Send for Me.' The band was known for lush harmonies, polished production, and romantic lyrics.
