His career was interrupted by drug addiction and prison, but he achieved remarkable comebacks. Albums like 'Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section' are considered jazz classics. His playing influenced countless saxophonists with its technical mastery and emotional depth. He passed away in 1982.
