Artist: Art Blakey
Genre: Jazz
Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers were led by Art Blakey, one of the most influential drummers in jazz history, who formed various iterations of the Jazz Messengers from the 1950s until his death in 1990. Blakey's hard bop style, characterized by powerful, driving rhythms and emphasis on blues and gospel influences, defined the Jazz Messengers' sound. The group served as an incubator for young jazz talent. Albums like 'Moanin'' and 'The Big Beat' are considered hard bop classics.
