Andy Fraser was an English songwriter and bassist, born in 1952, best known as a founding member of Free, one of the most important British rock bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Despite being only a teenager, Fraser co-wrote Free's biggest hit 'All Right Now,' which became a rock classic and has been covered by numerous artists. His bass playing on Free's albums was melodic and sophisticated, contributing to the band's powerful yet soulful sound. After Free disbanded, Fraser pursued various solo and collaborative projects, including the band Sharks. He also became a successful songwriter, with his songs covered by various artists. Fraser struggled with health issues later in life and passed away in 2015. His contribution to rock music, particularly through 'All Right Now' and his work with Free, secured his place in rock history as a talented bassist and songwriter who achieved remarkable success at a young age.
