An Emotional Fish were an Irish alternative rock band formed in Dublin in 1988, achieving success in the early 1990s. The band, fronted by Gerard Whelan, created energetic alternative rock combining punk energy with funk rhythms and politically conscious lyrics. Their biggest hit was 'Celebrate,' which became an anthem in Ireland and achieved international recognition through the 'Singles' film soundtrack. Despite their initial success, An Emotional Fish disbanded in the mid-1990s after their follow-up album failed to match their debut's impact.
