4/10 What's that sound? Oh, it's just the Catalinas bringing us their latest offering, "Fun Fun Fun".
And yes, they definitely bring the fun...
but perhaps a little too much for their own good.
From the opening track, "Party All Night", you can tell that this album is going to be a wild ride.
With upbeat rhythms and catchy choruses, the Catalinas certainly know how to get the party started.
But as the album goes on, you start to wonder if maybe they've had a bit too much fun themselves.
Tracks like "Dance Floor Madness" and "Let's Get Crazy" are sure to get you moving, but they lack a certain depth that you would expect from a seasoned band like the Catalinas.
It's all just a bit too surface-level, a bit too...
well, fun.
That's not to say that there aren't some highlights on the album.
"Sunshine and Rainbows" brings a welcome change of pace with its heartfelt lyrics and stripped-back production.
