Yazz (Yasmin Evans) is a British singer who achieved massive success in 1988 with 'The Only Way Is Up,' which topped the UK charts for five weeks. The song's uplifting message and infectious production made it one of the year's defining tracks. Her album 'Wanted' achieved platinum status. Yazz represented the vibrant British dance-pop scene of the late 1980s. Though subsequent releases achieved less success, her debut impact was substantial. She represented feel-good pop at its most commercially successful.
