Yazoo (known as Yaz in the US) were a British synth-pop duo consisting of former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke and vocalist Alison Moyet. Their two albums, 'Upstairs at Eric's' and 'You and Me Both,' produced hits including 'Don't Go,' 'Only You,' 'Situation,' and 'Nobody's Diary.' Moyet's powerful, soulful voice combined with Clarke's electronic production created a distinctive sound. Despite their brief existence (1982-1983), Yazoo's influence on synth-pop was substantial. They represented electronic pop at its most emotionally powerful.
