The Wildhearts are a British rock band formed in 1989 by guitarist Ginger whose music combines hard rock power with power pop hooks. Despite constant lineup turbulence and record label difficulties, they maintained devoted cult following. Albums 'Earth vs. the Wildhearts' and 'P.H.U.Q.' earned critical acclaim for their songwriting quality. The Wildhearts' influence on subsequent British rock demonstrated that uncompromising artistic vision could sustain long careers despite commercial obstacles. They represented hard rock's most melodic and hook-laden possibilities.
