Wham! were a British pop duo consisting of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley who became one of the biggest acts of the 1980s. Their infectious pop hits, including 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,' 'Freedom,' 'I'm Your Man,' and 'Last Christmas,' dominated charts worldwide. They became the first Western pop act to perform in China. George Michael's subsequent solo career achieved even greater success. Wham!'s influence on 1980s pop and their demonstration of British pop's international appeal was substantial. They represented feel-good pop at its most commercially successful.
