Weekend were a British post-punk band from London who achieved cult status with their atmospheric, jazz-influenced sound. Their music combined post-punk textures with sophisticated musical elements. Though commercial success was limited, Weekend earned respect among alternative music enthusiasts. They represented the more musically ambitious end of early 1980s British alternative music.
