The Wedding Present are a British indie rock band from Leeds formed in 1985, led by David Gedge. Their jangly, intense guitar sound and Gedge's distinctive vocal delivery created a devoted following. The band achieved a record by releasing a single every month in 1992, all charting in the UK Top 30. Albums including 'George Best,' 'Bizarro,' and 'Seamonsters' (produced by Steve Albini) earned critical acclaim. The Wedding Present's influence on British indie rock and their demonstration of independent success was substantial.
