The Weather Prophets were a British indie rock band from London formed in 1986 by Pete Astor after The Loft disbanded. Their jangly guitar pop earned them critical acclaim and a devoted following among indie enthusiasts. Albums 'Mayflower' and 'Judges, Juries & Horsemen' showcased Astor's songwriting abilities. The Weather Prophets represented the quality of mid-1980s British indie guitar pop. Their influence extended through the jangle-pop tradition they helped develop.
