Was (Not Was) were an American pop-funk group from Detroit formed by Don Was and David Was whose eclectic music defied easy categorization. Their hits 'Walk the Dinosaur' and 'Spy in the House of Love' combined funk, pop, and humor. The group featured an impressive array of guest vocalists and musicians. Don Was's subsequent production career, working with artists from the Rolling Stones to Bob Dylan, demonstrated his remarkable abilities.
