Warfare were a British thrash metal band formed in 1984 whose aggressive approach earned them a following among extreme metal enthusiasts. Their raw, unpolished sound influenced subsequent thrash and black metal bands. Though commercial success was limited, Warfare represented British metal's most extreme wing during the 1980s. Their influence extended through underground metal movements.
