Artist: Wall Of Voodoo
Genre: New Wave/Synth-Rock
Wall of Voodoo were an American new wave band from Los Angeles whose music combined synthesizers with Southwestern imagery and quirky humor. Their hit 'Mexican Radio' became a new wave classic, its strange lyrics and memorable hook earning MTV rotation. Stan Ridgway's distinctive vocals and the band's unusual sound created something genuinely original. Wall of Voodoo's influence on alternative rock demonstrated that new wave could accommodate American regional influences.
