Van McCoy was an American musician, songwriter, record producer, and orchestra leader best known for 'The Hustle,' which topped charts in 1975 and won a Grammy Award. His sophisticated approach to dance music combined orchestral arrangement with contemporary rhythms. Van McCoy represented disco production at its most musically accomplished.
