Ui were an American post-rock band from New York City whose experimental approach combined rock instrumentation with dub influences and ambient textures. Their albums earned critical respect among fans of adventurous instrumental music. Ui represented the more experimental end of 1990s post-rock. Their influence demonstrated that rock could accommodate significant sonic experimentation.
