UFO are a British hard rock band formed in London in 1969 who became one of the most influential groups in hard rock history. The classic lineup featuring vocalist Phil Mogg and guitarist Michael Schenker produced landmark albums including 'Phenomenon,' 'Force It,' 'Lights Out,' and the essential live album 'Strangers in the Night.' Their combination of blues-based hard rock with melodic sensibility influenced countless subsequent bands, from Iron Maiden to Metallica. Schenker's guitar work became legendary among rock guitarists. Despite numerous lineup changes, UFO continued performing for decades. They represented British hard rock at its most influential and enduring.
