Their 1987 hit 'Heart and Soul' reached number four in the UK, while 'China in Your Hand' topped the charts for five weeks. Their polished pop-rock sound achieved remarkable success in 1987-88. Decker's powerful voice distinguished them from contemporaries. Though their commercial peak was relatively brief, T'Pau's hits became enduring favorites. They represented late 1980s British pop-rock at its most commercially successful.
