Her hit 'I Love to Love (But My Baby Loves to Dance)' topped the UK charts in 1976, becoming one of the era's defining disco tracks. Follow-up hits including 'Dance Little Lady Dance' continued her success. Charles represented British disco at its most commercially successful, creating floor-filling music that competed with American productions. Her influence on British dance music demonstrated the UK's ability to produce internationally competitive disco.
