Them were a Northern Irish rock band from Belfast who launched the career of Van Morrison. Their raw, R&B-influenced sound produced classics including 'Gloria,' 'Here Comes the Night,' and 'Baby, Please Don't Go.' Morrison's powerful vocals and the band's energetic performances created some of the 1960s' most exciting rock. 'Gloria' became one of rock's most covered songs. Them's influence on garage rock and subsequent rock was substantial. They represented Belfast's contribution to 1960s rock and the launching point for one of rock's greatest voices.
