The The is a British musical project founded in 1979 by Matt Johnson that has produced some of the most distinctive alternative rock of the post-punk era. Albums including 'Soul Mining,' 'Infected,' and 'Mind Bomb' combined electronic experimentation with political commentary and emotional depth. Johnson's literate, passionate approach created music that engaged intellectually and emotionally.
