The Concretes were a Swedish indie pop band from Stockholm whose gentle, harmony-driven sound earned them international recognition. Their self-titled debut showcased their sophisticated approach to pop songcraft. Victoria Bergsman later achieved success with Taken by Trees. The Concretes represented Scandinavian indie pop at its most refined. Their influence on subsequent indie pop demonstrated the appeal of understated melodic sophistication.
