The Stylistics are an American R&B and soul vocal group from Philadelphia who achieved remarkable success in the 1970s with their smooth, romantic sound. Produced by Thom Bell with arrangements by Linda Creed, hits including 'You Make Me Feel Brand New,' 'Betcha By Golly Wow,' 'I'm Stone in Love with You,' and 'You Are Everything' defined sophisticated soul. Russell Thompkins Jr.'s distinctive falsetto lead vocals became the group's signature. The Stylistics' influence on romantic soul and R&B was substantial. They represented Philadelphia soul at its most elegant and emotionally affecting.
