Split Enz were a New Zealand band who achieved international success with their art-rock and new wave sound. Led by brothers Tim and Neil Finn, their visual presentation and eccentric music distinguished them from contemporaries. Hits including 'I Got You' and 'Six Months in a Leaky Boat' showcased their melodic gifts. After Split Enz, the Finn brothers achieved further success with Crowded House. Split Enz's influence on New Zealand music and their demonstration that Australasian bands could achieve international recognition was substantial.
