The Spinners (known as Detroit Spinners in the UK) are an American R&B vocal group from Detroit who achieved their greatest success in the 1970s with producer Thom Bell. Hits including 'I'll Be Around,' 'Could It Be I'm Falling in Love,' 'Then Came You' (with Dionne Warwick), and 'The Rubberband Man' showcased their smooth harmonies and sophisticated arrangements. Philippe Wynne's dynamic lead vocals distinguished their classic period. The Spinners' influence on vocal group R&B and their demonstration of the Philadelphia International sound's commercial potential was substantial.
