Artist: Small Faces
Genre: Rock/Mod
Small Faces were a British rock band from London who became one of the most significant acts of the 1960s mod movement. Steve Marriott's powerful vocals, Ronnie Lane's melodic bass and songwriting, and the band's tight R&B-influenced playing produced classics including 'Itchycoo Park,' 'Lazy Sunday,' 'Tin Soldier,' and the concept album 'Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake.' Their influence on subsequent British rock, from punk to Britpop, was immense. After Marriott left to form Humble Pie, the remaining members recruited Rod Stewart and Ron Wood to become Faces. Small Faces represented mod culture's musical peak.
