The Selecter were a British ska band from Coventry who became significant figures in the 2 Tone movement alongside The Specials and Madness. Led by vocalist Pauline Black, their hits including 'On My Radio,' 'Three Minute Hero,' and 'Missing Words' combined ska rhythms with punk energy. The band's multiracial lineup embodied 2 Tone's anti-racist message. The Selecter's influence on ska-punk and their representation of female leadership in a male-dominated scene was notable. They represented 2 Tone at its most politically engaged and danceable.
