Artist: Seekers
Genre: Folk Pop
The Seekers were an Australian folk-influenced pop group who achieved international success in the 1960s. With Judith Durham's pure voice and the group's tight harmonies, they scored hits including 'I'll Never Find Another You,' 'A World of Our Own,' 'The Carnival Is Over,' and 'Georgy Girl.' The Seekers were the first Australian act to achieve major international chart success. Their wholesome image and accessible folk-pop appealed to family audiences. The Seekers' influence on Australian popular music and their demonstration that Australian acts could achieve global success was substantial.
