Samson were a British heavy metal band from London who became significant figures in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. They are particularly notable for featuring Bruce Dickinson (then Bruce Bruce) as vocalist before he joined Iron Maiden. Albums like 'Head On' and 'Shock Tactics' showcased their powerful metal sound. Drummer Thunderstick's masked stage persona added theatrical elements. Though overshadowed by Iron Maiden's success, Samson represented NWOBHM's quality beyond its most famous acts. Their influence contributed to British metal's early 1980s development.
