Sad Café were a British rock band from Manchester who achieved success in the late 1970s and early 1980s with their melodic rock sound. Their biggest hit, 'Every Day Hurts,' reached the UK Top 3, showcasing their radio-friendly approach. The band's polished rock appealed to audiences seeking quality songwriting and musicianship. After Sad Café, vocalist Paul Young joined Mike + the Mechanics. The band represented Manchester's contribution to mainstream rock before the city's alternative explosion in the late 1980s.
