Artist: Rumour
Genre: Pub Rock/New Wave
The Rumour were a British pub rock and new wave band best known as Graham Parker's backing band on his classic late 1970s albums. Their tight, professional musicianship provided perfect support for Parker's passionate songwriting. The Rumour also recorded albums under their own name, showcasing their instrumental abilities. Members including Brinsley Schwarz brought impeccable credentials to the group. The Rumour represented pub rock's finest musicianship, creating a template for the punk-adjacent rock that emerged in the late 1970s.
